Ippei Sensei’s Contribution

I am very pleased to announce that Yagi Ippei Sensei will become an important addition Meibukan Houkonkai for his expertise as a kumite coach. He has twice earned the title as All Okinawa Karate-Do Association kumite champion and is currently the Sensei of the Yagi Dojo (Naminoue Branch of the Meibukan Hombu Dojo). The Yagi Dojo has made headlines lately for an incredible winning streak in kumite competitions. He has proven his skills to be versatile enough to lead his athletes to the podium in both sports Karate (point) and full contact. Over the next few years, Houkonkai members will benefit from his worldly experience.

This means that Houkonkai can be proud to be associated with one of the oldest Okinawa Goju Ryu schools in the world and with one of Okinawa’s top kumite coaches. Kata and Kumite from Okinawa at its best.
